Proctoring
Learn how we keep the playing field level and fair with our assessment proctoring solution.
It's important for us to know that assessments accurately reflect your actual abilities and skills. This is why we have developed a seamless, unobtrusive proctoring solution on Scholars.
What's proctoring?
Proctoring is the act of ensuring that when you take an assessment, you don't receive external help, and you complete it completely and solely with your own cognition.
You won't need to install anything to be proctored on Scholars. It happens automatically as you take assessments.
What does Scholars proctoring do?
On Scholars, our proctoring solution does the following:
It uses your webcam to see you and the environment around you. Your webcam must be on at all times during assessments. We use this information to gather information such as, but not limited to:
Where you look and for how long
How many people are in the room
It listens to your microphone to, among others:
Verify that you are not receiving verbal/auditory help
It sees your entire screen to, among others:
Verify that you don't have other windows open
Verify that you don't consult reference materials (outside of allowed ones, if any)
It sees the number of screens and number and titles of windows you have open on your computer to, among others:
Verify that you are not consulting reference materials (outside of allowed ones, if any)
Verify that you are not glancing at an additional monitor containing answers
The moment you complete the assessment, the proctoring solution closes, and Scholars stops capturing data.
