# Apply for a job

Learn how to apply for a job on Scholars.

To be selected to work on a job on Scholars, you must first apply.

This page will explain how to apply for a job on Scholars.

### See what jobs are available to you

Go to [app.scholars.net/talent/jobs](https://app.scholars.net/talent/jobs) to see what jobs are available to you right now.

You can also access this page by clicking on "Jobs" in the left sidebar.

It's possible and normal that that no jobs are be available to you. In that case, you will see the message "No opportunities are available right now".

Please check back again at a later time to see if jobs for you opened up.

You can filter jobs by name and filter for specific criteria by using the filter function at the top.

### Select a job you wish to apply to

Click on a job you wish to apply to. The job details will open up on the right:

#### Check the payment rate

Some jobs show a payment rate range in their details, while others keep the configured range hidden during the application stage. If no range is shown, this is not an error. If you are selected, your offer will show the actual rate before you decide whether to accept it.

#### If you cannot view or apply for a job

If you open a link to a job that is not available in the country on your profile, Scholars shows the job title and the message “This job is not available in your location. Thanks for your interest.” You cannot view the other job details or apply. Return to the *Jobs* page to see opportunities available to you.

If the "Apply now" button is greyed out and you can't click on it, hovering over it will reveal the reason. Usually, you can't apply because you have not taken or passed the assessments required by the job. See the next step.

### Take assessments (if required)

If the job requires you to take one or more assessments, click on them in the job details to begin taking the assessment.

#### Check your assessment results

After you complete an assessment, the job page shows the stage as complete. If your assessment score is available, you can hover over the complete badge to review it. Proctoring results are reviewed by the team and are not displayed to Scholars.

Once you have taken the assessment(s) required by the job, you may still not be eligible to apply. This may happen if you got a score on the assessment that's lower than what's required by the job. In this case, if the assessment allows it, you may attempt retaking the assessment.

### Apply

If the "Apply now" button at the bottom of the job page is clickable, click on it to apply for the job.

If you opened a public job link before signing in, Scholars will ask for your email and country on the job page. Enter them there and continue. You may be asked to sign in or complete onboarding, and then Scholars will bring you back to the job flow.

#### After applying

There is no other action you can or should take at the moment regarding this job. You will receive an email if you are selected with further information.

If you start an application but do not finish it, Scholars may send reminder emails with a link back to the job.

This is normal and expected. There is nothing additional you should do at this moment.

Jobs are location-dependent. We only show you jobs that are available in your location. It's possible that in your specific location, no jobs are available yet.

<summary>Why are the hourly rates shown as a range, rather than a specific, precise number?</summary>

When a range is shown, it can vary by location, years of experience, and other factors. Some jobs keep the configured range hidden during the application stage.

<summary>Once I have applied to a job, can I take my application back?</summary>

No. That said, applying to a job does not bind you to actually complete the job. You are bound to complete the job only if, after the application, you are selected and you sign the job's legal documents. You can therefore simply reject the offer that is sent to you (if any) after the application.
